Discovering how quantum technologies could disrupt your industry and create opportunities for Growth
Organiser
“It is now more important than ever for businesses to embrace emerging and disruptive technologies before it is too late – ignoring them now will leave businesses falling behind and questioning what might have been as a potential competitive advantage slips through their fingers.” Business Matters, 4th March 2016
Quantum theory is one of the most significant breakthroughs of the 20th century. It has led to the development of some of the most widely used technologies including the transistor and laser, which are pretty much commonplace. Sensors are widespread in most tech devices with products becoming more sophisticated through enhancements.
A new generation of quantum technologies is enabling and driving a different range of previously impossible devices and systems to solve currently intractable problems. As a result, we are seeing opportunities for making products which are faster and smaller, with the potential to provide even greater levels of accuracy and precision in measurements.
The Government announced £235m funding for quantum technologies in the 2018 Budget, taking total funding for the next phase of the National Quantum Technologies programme to £315m.
As the lead partner for the UK National Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology, the University of Birmingham is supremely positioned to educate, inform and share details of the exciting technological developments, research and investigations which are now attracting keen interest from industry.
This free workshop invites you to come and lear more about the major developments taking place in quantum technologies and explore how your business could benefit and position itself at the forefront.
We are also keen to hear from businesses already active in this space performing sensor developments/laser manufacture/optics analysis etc) to see how you could add value to our activities.
Our Centre for Innovation in Advanced Measurement in Manufacturing offers pre-funded assistance in helping you realise your future aspirations by giving you access to specialist expertise, world-class facilities and a wide network of potential collaborators and partners.
We invite you to commence your journey of exploration in quantum technologies with the University of Birmingham.
