Importing & Exporting Post-Brexit
Organiser
Our International Trade Briefing events keep you informed of the latest news & key topics in the world of international trade. This session will focus on import and export procedures post Brexit and the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Scheme.
Agenda
Join us over breakfast for this session where we will take a look at the AEO scheme and how it could become increasingly critical to import and export procedures post Brexit.
What is AEO?
AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) Status is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating that your customs controls and procedures are efficeint and compliant. AEO Status gives quicker access to certain simplified customs procedures and could become integral to import and export processes post-Brexit if we are to maintain 'frictionless' trade whilst being outside of the single market.
Brexit & AEO - Why is this important now?
With Brexit and the UK's likely exit from the Customs Union, AEO is going to become increasingly important to importers and exporters as it will allow businesses streamline their customs processes and fast-track shipments through certain customs procedures.Businesses that do a significant amount of trade with the EU should be investigating AEO now and considering the implications of leaving the Single Market for their trade post-Brexit.The timescales for AEO application can be lengthy and businesses will soon need to make the decison wether or not to apply if they are to have accreditation in place in time for March 2019.
Join our seminar to find out:
- What is AEO and how might it benefit your business?
- Why is AEO going to be increasingly important in a post-Brexit environment?
- Is AEO worth applying for regardless of Brexit?
- How do you apply for AEO? What steps are involved?
