You are invited to a breakfast conference for Warwickshire business

and education leaders taking place at Chesford Grange Hotel, on 13 March.

At the conference, an exciting new economic model will be unveiled, which calculates the financial benefits of improving the skills of

young people. Delegates will be able to discuss this and related issues with the University of Derby team who was commissioned by Warwickshire County Council to develop the economic model.

Young people will also be at the event to describe the journeys they’ve taken in the past 18 months to gain employment, or to get on the right track for a career that suits their skills, aptitudes and ambitions. For example, one 18 year old chose a job in advanced manufacturing and engineering instead of taking up a place at Loughborough University. These journeys, and the motivations behind them, link to key factors in the new economic model.

The conference, new economic model and skills support provided to the young speakers, are all funded by Skills for Employment, a £2.4 million programme introduced in 2015 by Warwickshire County Council to improve the employability of young people and to help employers address skills shortages.

Breakfast will be provided from 8.00am and ample free parking is available at Chesford Grange Hotel.
