User-Testing Support Allows Local SME to Develop New Product

A small business has developed a new product with help from the Coventry & Warwickshire Innovation Programme.

Solesee Ltd, based in Stratford-Upon-Avon, has developed an innovative diabetes foot inspection mirror, following usability testing support from Coventry University Enterprises.

The product is critical to help spread awareness of daily foot checks which are instrumental to prevent further complications in diabetic patients, including ulcers and potential amputation.

As an SME, Solesee lacked resources to complete clinical testing themselves so needed testimonial evidence to validate their product within the industry, to the government and to consumers.

Coventry University Enterprises were offering user testing support which gave Solesee the opportunity to test the product with end users over a period of time.

User testing is part of a full package of support offered through the Innovation Programme, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, which also includes business-focused workshops, 1:1 support, and grants of up to £100,000.
