The UK is going through a significant modernisation and expansion of our national railway network with HS2 being one of the largest single rail infrastructure programmes. This HS2 rail programme will be creating thousands of new supply chain opportunities for suppliers of all sizes, across many different business sectors, and will be requiring a wide range of capabilities. To help potential suppliers find out more about these new supply chain opportunities and to become more involved in the HS2 programme, we have highlighted a variety of links to local HS2 events and information on the the HS2 website, which aims to provide suppliers with the information needed to prepare for and identify HS2 business opportunities.
To obtain guidance on how to identify and take advantage of HS2 business opportunities, download the HS2 Supplier Guide and FAQs.
Details of what HS2 will be buying directly and the stage of procurement for each opportunity are available in the below sections.
This includes information on who has been shortlisted at the invitation to tender (ITT) stage, and contact details for HS2 direct contractors who have been awarded work, so that businesses can contact them directly to find out about opportunities in their supply chains.
Appropriate direct contract opportunities with HS2 are advertised in the following locations:
• Tenders Electronic Daily (for opportunities valued above OJEU thresholds), as Contract Notices are published
• The UK Government’s Contracts Finder
• To find out how to join an existing framework, visit the Crown Commercials website
Where appropriate, some direct opportunities will be sourced through existing public sector frameworks.
HS2 will also encourage their own supply chain to promote details of all appropriate indirect contract opportunities (i.e. opportunities in the HS2 supply chain) via CompeteFor.
To join the HS2 supply chain conversations online, follow them on @HS2ltd Twitter account using the following hashtag: #hs2supplychain.
If businesses have any further queries or comments, or would like to be added to the HS2 Supply Chain Distribution List, please contact ‘Supply Chain Communications’ mailbox at scc@hs2.org.uk
Please note that this page will updated on a regular basis to provide more information on further help and support that will be offered to businesses in the future to help them to access HS2 supply chain opportunities.
