CUE Ltd is offering a series of bespoke workshops through the Coventry and Warwickshire Innovative Place Test Bed project. The workshops are part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
This workshop aims to boost the competence of SME owner/managers in the theory and practical everyday use of key financial documents so that they can fully understand the financial dimensions of how to run a business better and in-turn be more confident in their business dealings.
The workshop covers:
I thought accounts were for accountants!
What are the key financial statements?
Why do they matter to me and my business?
What are they telling us; how to interpret them and how will others interpret them?
Profit and loss:
A quick look at how each of the elements are treated that make up business income, expenditure and overheads.
The balance sheet in detail:
Taking a snapshot of your business – what can we learn?
The cashflow forecast:
How to use common sense to build up a picture of our business future. The key difference between profit and cash, demonstrating the issues of working capital.
Delegates can expect to:
Emerge with a greater appreciation of the importance of financial management
Understand how to interpret financial reports
Learn the basic components of how to start to put together important financial reports
Use forecasting techniques to set budgets and performance targets
Monitor spending and performance
Consider, project and manage options for change

To be eligible for this workshop you must be:
An SME based in Coventry or Warwickshire
Registered with Companies House or have a Unique Tax Reference number (UTR)
Have an innovative product,service or idea to take to market
Able to commit to recieving a minimum of 12 hours of support from the project
