Meet the Market: Switzerland Skype Surgery
Organiser
One of the best parts of exporting is the chance to travel the world, growing your business while you're at it. Of course, visiting a market and meeting face to face with new contacts is one of the best ways to develop a successful business relationship - but we realise that this isn't always possible.
That's why we are working with our network of contacts based at British Embassies around the world arranging for them to visit the West Midlands, giving businesses the chance to meet commercial specialists on their doorstep at an event or via a 1:1 Skype meeting.
Find out if your product or service will sell in Switzerland - request a free 20-30 minute on-line chat with one of DIT’s Trade Advisers based at the British Embassy in Berne...
These sessions are open to companies from the following sectors:
- Life Sciences
- Financial, Business and Professional Services
- Aid Funded Business
- Defence & Security
- Food & Drink
- CERN (buys high precision engineering, electronics, vacuum technology, cryogenics and various industrial services)
Why Switzerland?
Switzerland has a highly efficient market economy. It is centrally located in Europe with both financial and political stability and a reliable legal and regulatory environment. The public infrastructure is excellent and the quality of education and health care systems are among the highest in Europe. The workforce is highly educated with a high productivity level. It is an innovative country with high value spend on research and development including technology. Its 8.3m people have a good standard of living and high disposable income. English is widely spoken. It is important to note that Switzerland is not a member of the EU and is not likely to join in the foreseeable future. Nevertheless the Swiss economy is highly integrated in the international economy, capitalising on an open trade regime for industrial products but with a protected agricultural sector with significant tariffs on a number of agricultural products such as meat or on certain processed agricultural products.
