Coventry College to support family area at Godiva Festival

Coventry College has been named as a sponsor for Godiva Festival 2023.

The further education provider has signed a deal with the Council to sponsor the festival’s beloved family field for next three years.

Godiva Festival’s strong, established family focussed approach perfectly aligns with Coventry College’s aim of providing young people in the city with the opportunity to maximise their potential.

Over the weekend, representatives from the college will be engaging with festivalgoers and showcasing the amazing opportunities that the college can offer them.

Cllr Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events, said: “We’re delighted to be able to sign this multi-year agreement with the College and have them on board as a key partner for the festival.

“Godiva Festival has always had a strong, family friendly spirit and I’m delighted that we’re partnering with an organisation which shares that. I’m confident this fantastic partnership will ensure we continue to develop the festival and provide a perfect showcase to deliver great things together. “

Gemma Knott, Vice Principal Business Growth, Engagement and Partnerships for Coventry College said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Coventry City Council and the Godiva Festival as the Family Zone sponsor.

“This is an important flagship event for the City and is a brilliant opportunity for our learners to support and experience a live and exciting festival as well as for the College to showcase the broad provision and range of subjects available for both young people and adults to support them with their next career choices.”

The College have picked an ideal time to join the festival as this year’s family entertainment is set to be bigger and better than ever before.  This year families will be invited to ‘Go Wild” in the family field and will be introduced to a litany of creatures such as dinosaurs, sloths and walking trees. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are still available for Godiva Festival, with day tickets starting at £8. Family tickets are available at £23 per day. All tickets can be purchased via the Godiva Festival website.

Festivalgoers can look forward to seeing The Enemy, Rudimental (DJ Set), Melanie C and much more over the Godiva Festival weekend, 30 June – 2 July, in the city’s War Memorial Park.
