Rugby marketing firm uses mentoring expertise to make lasting business connections

A marketing firm has used the mentoring expertise of a Coventry and Warwickshire business advice service to drive the business forward and make lasting connections.

CC Ltd has tapped into and utilised another invaluable resource that the CWLEP Growth Hub offers throughout the region.

The Rugby-based company, which is headed up by husband and wife team Tony and Mickey Clarke, has gained advice, support and also improved its network thanks to working with Rich Warren, business mentor and account manager at the Growth Hub.

With the help of the Growth Hub, the firm, which is made up of a dedicated team of four members who have worked around the world, has forged new links and strengthened networks.

The successful mentoring and networking scheme between the two organisations has led to an exciting project that has seen CC Ltd drafted into help launch RugbyFest – a two-day celebration of the game that will be taking place on September 22 and 23.

A whole host of events and attractions will be taking place at Rugby School for all the family to enjoy, including a whole host of matches from a Legends Rugby Union Match to Mixed Touch Rugby Competition. Legends confirmed to appear at the celebration include Mike Tindall, Ceri Sweeny, Shane Byrne, Ollie Phillips and for more information visit www.werrugby.com. Mickey Clarke, who is behind marketing ideas at CC Ltd, said that the Growth Hub provides a rounded service, including mentoring, that can prove extremely useful for many businesses.

“Working with the Growth Hub has been a huge benefit, not just for CC Ltd, but for many businesses in Rugby,” said Mickey.

“Rich not only has a wealth of business knowledge, but has done fantastically to bring businesses together and be a link between us all so we can work for the good of the town.

“The CWLEP Growth Hub is an excellent resource for Coventry and Warwickshire which offers so many areas of support and I am so pleased that we could access the help on offer.” Rich Warren said: “The work that the CWLEP Growth Hub has done with CC Ltd demonstrates that it is more than just about us facilitating grants and referrals to funded support programmes. “We are here to offer support, advice and mentoring in ways that benefit companies and the work that they do.

“The Growth Hub can also build real connections between businesses and offer guidance to businesses and all of this adds up to a real, lasting value.

“We don’t just do this then disappear, we are there as part of an ongoing process and this has not only helped CC Ltd, but many firms throughout the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

“The process of being a mentor and offering a simple word of advice, may seem light in touch, but it can add up to real and lasting value which is certainly the case with Mickey and the team.”
