The Applied Engineering Programme - Do you want to attract and retain talented people, and provide workplace education to your promising engineers?
Our Applied Engineering Programme (AEP) is a part-time, flexible engineering degree, allowing you to ensure you are developing your people with the right skills for the future of your business.
Why offer the programme in your company?
Your promising engineers will be taught the very latest tools and techniques in both engineering and in business, and learn how to apply them in directly into your workplace. All those participating in the programme will gain the same basic grounding in engineering, and are able to go on to specialise in an area relevant to your business.
We currently have over 200 participants studying with us from a range of companies, so your staff will have numerous opportunities to learn how others are doing things and share best practice across sectors. This includes automotive, aerospace, construction, IT, energy and utilities, and construction.
As undergraduates of the University of Warwick, they will have access to WMG’s expert tutors, facilities, and an online learning environment, plus resources and facilities across the University campus.
By supporting promising employees through the programme, you will be helping them to gain a Bachelor of Engineering degree awarded by the University of Warwick, which is consistently ranked in the Top 10 of UK universities and Top 50 in the world.
Who is this for?
We have students from all areas and levels of their companies.
New employees at 18+ ideally with Level 3 qualifications or higher
Those who have completed a standard apprenticeship and want to go further, or individuals taking a Higher or Degree Apprenticeship
More experienced employees who show an aptitude for engineering and who have potential to develop within the company

Programme Structure
The AEP is a four year programme. Over the first two years, participants will take a common path of core engineering and technical subjects to give them a broad grounding in the basics of engineering.
For the third and fourth years they will choose a specialism, with module options and two individual projects allowing you to guide their development in areas relevant to your business. We currently have four specialist streams; manufacturing systems, product creation, business, and rail, and we have the potential to develop new streams for your sector as well.
Why choose WMG?
We are one of the largest academic departments at the University of Warwick, and have forged strong links with leading engineering, manufacturing, technology-led companies, as well as key industrial bodies. We deliver high quality, industrially relevant education which is valued by not only the individuals who study with us, but by the companies that they go on to work for.
Our tutors are able to bring their subjects to life by blending their academic knowledge with their experience in a variety of industry sectors, supporting students in applying what they learn directly back into your company.
