Careers & Enterprise Fund 2016 now open for applications
The Careers & Enterprise Fund was created in 2015 to increase the number of encounters young people have with employers while in education which, according to research, dramatically reduces their chances of becoming NEET and increases future salary by on average 18%. Focusing on areas in greatest need, 75% of funding has been directed to 'Cold Spot' areas. To date, £9m including match funding has been awarded to programmes with a track record of success and the ability to scale up, nearly 250,000 young people will be reached.
The Careers and Enterprise Fund 2016 will allocate £4 million government-backed investment funds to scale up many existing, effective careers and enterprise programmes. The Careers and Enterprise Company aim to ensure that secondary school students get multiple opportunities to learn from employers throughout the course of their education to help them develop the skills and attitude (including social skills and motivation) necessary to gain employment, education or training.
The Careers and Enterprise Fund 2016 is now open. Applications will close on 20 January 2017 at 3pm. Full details can be found at https://www.careersandenterprise.co.uk/fund
