Coventry hotel made available to let - just in time for City of Culture
A prominent Coventry hotel built in the early 20th century is available for let as the city prepares itself for rising demand for hotel rooms in its City of Culture year.
Churchill Hotel, which is situated on the Walsgrave Road, is seeking new tenants to take over the premises from the family who have owned and operated it for the past few decades.
It is prominently positioned at the top of Ball Hill on one of the primary arterial routes into the city centre – and would be in the ideal location to take advantage of a surge in visitors to the city for City of Culture 2021.
The 5,000 sq ft hotel features 14 en-suite bedrooms, together with restaurant and bar and a substantial private car park. There is also considerable potential to increase the bed spaces at the property.
Chris Hobday, Associate at Holt Commercial, is marketing the property and is anticipating strong demand from hotel operators, but is also encouraging interested parties with ideas of alternative uses to get in touch.
He said: “The Churchill Hotel is prominently positioned near the city centre and comes to market at the perfect time with Coventry 2021 on the horizon.
“It’s an attractive two-storey building of brick construction dating from the early 1900s. The hotel provides an expansive ground floor including a large restaurant and bar area which we feel provides occupiers with an opportunity to obtain income from a range of avenues.
“Alternatively the property would lend itself to alternative residential uses together with Uses falling under Use Class D1.
“As a result, we’re expecting good demand and would encourage any parties to contact us as soon as possible to register their interest, whether this be for usage as a hotel or with a proposed alternative use.”
