Top Warwickshire attractions offering Easter fun during the holidays

From Easter egg trails around historic houses to a retelling of Dicken’s Oliver Twist or roaming the rainforests of Central America, tourist attractions across south Warwickshire are gearing up to help families have an egg-cellent Easter break.  

Families are in for a treat this Easter with Shakespeare’s England members hosting an exciting programme of events across Coventry and Warwickshire, with free and reduced rate activities to suit every budget.

The Easter Bunny and his easter eggs will be visiting many historic homes on his easter travels, stopping off at Kenilworth Castle to hide eggs as part of the castle’s Easter Adventure quest, where children hunt for clues and complete challenges in the grounds and gardens to win chocolatey treats from Love Cocoa.

Entry to the quest costs £2 plus the normal ticket price and the quest runs from Saturday, April 1 to Thursday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 11 to Sunday, April 16.

The Easter Bunny will also be hopping to Sulgrave Manor for their series of Easter themed crafts, trails and activities until Tuesday, April 11.  

A popular easter egg trail returns to Charlecote Park, where families can make new memories with easter themed activities including origami rabbits and a new egg trail through the grounds. The trail runs until 16 April 2023 between 9am and 5pm and costs £3 per child.

Charlecote also sees two paintings by the late Sir Edmund Fairfax-Lucy go on display for the first time.

Inspired by Dicken’s classic novel, the new production Unexpected Twist is a treat for theatre lovers and arrives for one week only at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre from Tuesday, April 11 to Saturday, April 15. The modern musical is based on the book by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen, with tickets starting from £15.

Bessie the Bus is celebrating its 100th birthday at the British Motor Museum this Easter, and the museum is marking it with activities including a fun family tour with Mavis the Bus Clippie or Jim the Bus Driver, and a chance to build your own car out of Lego and build your own 3D bus out of cardboard.  

Magic Alley in Stratford is hosting an Easter mystery hunt, with guests challenged to solve the Case of the Disappearing Dragon Egg and, with the help of interactive performers, decide whether the egg has disappeared or been stolen by a suspect. Selected dates across the Easter holidays feature lowered costs to help more families enjoy the whodunnit experience.

Stratford Butterfly Farm have unveiled their new Rainforest Realm exhibition, where visitors can explore the climate and wildlife of Central American rainforests and meet their new resident, a Spectacled Caiman.

Visitors can explore the natural world through art as a new free climate art mural opens at Warwick Market Hall Museum, showcasing the climate’s natural and human impacted evolution.

The Eden Hotel Collection has the perfect countryside getaway with Easter offers across their hotels including an Easter Stay at Leamington’s Mallory Court, featuring two nights’ accommodation, a full English breakfast, Easter Sunday lunch and Easter Egg hunt on stays booked between April 7 and 10.

Meadowfield Glamping is offering families the perfect opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors this Easter at its family-friendly glamping site, with guests saving up to £155 on their break and claiming a free pizza oven bundle when they book a four night stay from April 10 to 14.

Coventry’s Telegraph Hotel has a number of short stay food and drink packages, including the popular Wine and Dine option where guests can relax and unwind over a two-night stay with breakfast and dinner included for both nights.

Shopping destination Bicester Village is offering visitors an extra 20 per cent off at selected retailers this Easter with its private sale event for members until April 24.  

Foodies in the family can try new dishes as The Cross at Kenilworth launches a special Easter themed seasonal al a carte and tasting menus to welcome spring.

Hotel du Vin have a morning treat for food lovers, having launched a new brunch menu this Spring, including their C'est Brunch Package which includes a selection of baked goods alongside a choice of tea or coffee, fruit juice, brunch plate and two drinks.

Gin lovers are in for a treat at the Warwickshire Gin Company, with gin tasting events across the Easter holidays, including their recently launched Cocktails at the Distillery event happening each Friday where guests can sample three free cocktails and enjoy 10 per cent off all distillery purchases.

Shakespeare Distillery in Stratford has partnered up with Avon Boating to offer gin tasting cruises along the River Avon from £25 per person. 

Chiltern Railways have an Advance Purchase ticket rate, where customers can save up to 40 per cent this Easter on routes across the UK, for those want to leave the car at home.

Johnsons Coaches are also offering affordable travel this Easter break, with discounted rates to attractions including West Midlands Safari Park and Hampton Court Palace.
