Warwickshire property firm continues growth with senior hire in rural team

A Midlands-based land, development and property agency has made a key appointment to aid further expansion following its third anniversary.

Richard Sanders has joined Newton LDP as a Consultant in the firm’s growing rural team, where he will assist in advising rural clients on business reorganisation and succession planning, through to estate diversification and exploring new soil carbon markets.

Richard has a family farming background and joins with more than 40 years’ of experience advising farming businesses, rural estates and diversified family and corporate businesses.

His appointment bolsters the continued growth of Newton LDP since it was established just over three years ago. To date, the firm has facilitated land transactions worth more than £350 million, advised on more than 4,500 acres of strategic land for over 30,000 potential new homes and advised on more than 550 acres of commercial development land.

Rural and agribusiness advice has been provided across more than 20,000 acres of agricultural land in the firm’s first three years, and with demand growing in this space, it is an achievement Richard is hoping to build on.

Richard said: “I am delighted to be involved with Newton LDP. They are a young, enthusiastic team who are all well-respected experts in their particular fields. They are focused on delivering high value advice in specific areas of expertise in a way that directly meets client needs.

“The current political, environmental and market climate provides a number of challenges, but also real opportunities for all farmers and landowners in the UK.

“With new outcome focused subsidy schemes, carbon and natural capital markets, tax changes and evolving farming systems all influencing business profitability and sustainability, this is a really interesting time to be involved in farm business and land use consultancy and I look forward to delivering this service as part of the Newton team.”

Newton LDP operates nationally from its headquarters in Southam and is on course to double its workforce in 2024; servicing a range of clients including landowners, farmers, developers, housebuilders, land promoters, housing associations, charities, institutions and corporate clients.

Richard Foxon, Managing Director at Newton LDP, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Richard into the team as part of our continued growth strategy.

“He is highly regarded throughout the Midlands and brings four decades of experience advising businesses in this sector, which will prove invaluable to our growing rural client base.

“Providing considered and tailored expert advice in an everchanging world has been at the heart of our growth over the past three years, which is testament to the talented team we are building.”
