Arty-Folks launches an inspiring community initiative to celebrate creativity and community spirit in Lillington

Arty-Folks is set to bring an exciting burst of creativity and connection to Lillington with the recent launch of Project Window Wonderland at Lillington Library.

Project Window Wonderland is showcasing the artistic talents of five local artists, who will lead window design workshops with households on key streets in Lillington which includes Mason Avenue, Buckley Road, Newland Road, and buildings at The Crest. The project seeks to engage 50 households and over 200 residents in a creative celebration that fosters neighbourhood pride and connection.

Arty Folks, an organisation in Coventry and Warwickshire, helps anyone over the age of 16 who is struggling with their mental health this project is funded with a grant from Warwick District Council’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Councillor Ella Billiald, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Economy at Warwick District Council, said:

“Art can bring communities together, promoting health and wellbeing, also enhancing a sense of pride in an area. This is a fantastic project which is engaging both artists and local residents, creating an attractive destination for others to visit. I look forward to seeing the displays.”

“We know Lillington is full of creative people who just need this opportunity to come out of their shell.

“Our team of artists will support residents, young and old, to create colourful window designs using tissue paper and card. With this grant, this Christmas, we will light up our streets with warmth, fun, and lots of glitter, of course! Arty-Folks has been involved in a number of projects in Lillington over the past year. Where the organisation has actively engaged residents through projects that promote arts, culture, and well-being. Including the successful Lillington Makers initiative, which inspired these new projects involving local artists, community groups, and volunteers. Arty-Folks is fostering a supportive environment where residents can feel empowered to shape their community.

The organisation’s long-term vision includes establishing an artist studio at The Crest, a centre for continued creative engagement and community involvement.
