Business Festival Heats up as Ticket Sales Soar

Five weeks before it is due to open, Coventry & Warwickshire Business Festival tickets are flying out the door with some events already selling out.

The Business Festival, developed by the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub and the Coventry & Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) will take place from November 20th to December 1st.

Over the fortnight, businesses from across the region will have the opportunity to attend hundreds of events staged by local organisations to encourage collaboration, networking, innovation, learning and sharing opportunities.

Jonathan Browning, chair of the Coventry & Warwickshire LEP, said: “I am delighted to see so many of our businesses have united to be the driving force behind the Business Festival: partnering; sponsoring; promoting; and importantly, organising events.

“The Festival will showcase our vast range of knowledge, commerce, culture and innovative businesses; our place as the ‘Knowledge Capital of the UK; and our strengths, opportunities and potential as a beacon for investment.”

Events including seminars, lectures, workshops and conferences will be taking place across the whole of the Coventry and Warwickshire area, offering a wide variety of choice.

Amongst the hundred events in the programme are:

  • An exclusive opportunity to visit Horiba MIRA in Nuneaton to find out more about Coventry University and Horiba MIRA's exciting projects and the benefits and challenges in creating cars for the future (November 27th ).
  • The Rise of the Gigabit City on November 23rd inviting businesses to hear about Coventry - the Gigabit city, being one of the most digitally connected cities in the UK and how CityFibre’s ultrafast network can help business growth. 
  • A seminar on November 29th by the Futureworks on how to be levy smart, develop employees and understand degree apprenticeships
  • An exciting event led by Coventry 2021 City of Culture examining new research and inviting businesses to comment on what action needs to be taken to boost digital and creative industries in Coventry (November 30th).

Recently the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) became the Business Festival’s headline partner. It is also hosting the Coventry & Warwickshire Small Business Conference, organised by the FSB, and ‘Increase Manufacturing Productivity’ - an event for manufacturing SMEs, as well as staging the closing event of the Festival.

Craig Humphrey, managing director of the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub said, “There is a such a huge range of innovative and exciting events on offer over the fortnight across a variety of sectors from automotive and advanced manufacturing, construction and creative, to digital, culture and tourism, games development and serious gaming, professional and financial services and much more.

The majority of events in the Business Festival are completely free to attend.
