What do you do at the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub?
- Account Manager for North Warwickshire.
What are some of your specialisms in supporting businesses?
- I would say, my specialisms are…
- IP and Innovation
- Marketing and Events
- Project Management
- Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation
What's an interesting fact about yourself?
- I have lived, studied, and worked in various countries (Indonesia, Canada, USA, France, Australia) throughout my adult life. These experiences honed my ability to empathise and build connections with people from diverse backgrounds. I have learned to adapt quickly to new environments and view challenges as opportunities for learning. These skills are very useful in my current role because in order to be able to support businesses, we first need to understand the people in the business and the challenges they face.
What 3 things do you love about your role?
- I enjoy meeting different businesses and learning how they operate. It’s interesting to see the different levels of innovation they have implemented, particularly from those that are leading the industry.
- I enjoy helping businesses solve a challenge, which then allowed them to unlock their growth potential.
- I enjoy engaging with different organisation partners and collaborating on different business support events.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
- It’s better to fail than to live with regrets. There are times when I thought to shy away from challenges or trying new things because of fear of failure or rejection. I would then realise that the regret of not trying is much worse than failure itself. So, I try to keep this in mind today.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learnt about the Coventry & Warwickshire Business community since joining the Growth Hub?
- The diversity of businesses. There are many businesses doing things I had never even thought of, and yet they serve very important functions in our modern lives.
What could you comfortably give a 30 min presentation about, with no preparation?
- International Relations/Politics (specifically most recently on Chinese Foreign Policies)
