Cafe joins tributes as hundreds gather for Remembrance commemorations at War Memorial Park
A Coventry café joined the tributes as hundreds gathered for the city’s annual Remembrance Sunday commemorations.
Coventry’s Remembrance Sunday Service at War Memorial Park welcomed past and present armed forces personnel, their loved ones and the public to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict.
Staff at the Park Bistro paid tribute to those who have served by handing out complimentary hot drinks ahead of the service, which was followed by a military parade led by The Right Reverend Ruth Worsley, Acting Bishop of Coventry.
The annual service, which saw Lord Mayor of the City of Coventry Cllr Mal Mutton lay the Civic Wreath, commemorates the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
Ryan Hobday, retail manager at the Park Bistro, which is operated by No Ordinary Hospitality, said it was great to see crowds gather on Remembrance Sunday.
He said: “The War Memorial Park is a special place in the city and it was great to see so many people attending the service and watching the parade.
“It’s been a real privilege to give a small show of thanks to our armed forces personnel, including those with multiple generations of veterans, and support the city’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations.”
