Innovative technologies set to support county's emergency services to be showcased in Coventry

Thousands of people from across the public safety communications sector will head to Coventry to find out how innovative new technologies are set to support the country’s emergency services.

The British Association of Public Safety Communications (BAPCO) Annual Event 2023 is taking place at Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday, March 7 and March 8.

BAPCO 2023 brings together more than 2,000 people, 80 exhibitors and 40 speakers from across the sector to discuss how the latest cutting-edge technology can support the nation’s emergency services in saving lives and keeping people safe.

AI is set to be among the major topics discussed in the educational conference programme which is held alongside the exhibition for the two-days, as the impact and benefits of this new technology continue to be assessed.

The programme will feature presentations from leaders in the public safety communications sector, discussing best practice, technology and debating the potential roles of emerging technologies.

BAPCO is also set to provide an important update for delegates on the rollout of the Emergency Services Network, which is transforming the way first responders are able to access life-saving data images and information in emergencies on the front line.

Organisers are set to launch a new Vehicle Demonstration Zone for this year where attendees can witness first-hand vehicles which are currently being used to make the UK a safer place.

It has also introduced individually themed, tailored and interactive experiences to help delegates experience new products on offer from exhibitors which could change transform the way businesses work in the sector.

The two-day event will also see one of the most important events in the UK public safety calendar take place at the end of the first day of the exhibition and conference, the BAPCO Annual Dinner.

John Anthony, BAPCO President, said: “Since the end of the pandemic, our annual event has gone from strength to strength, seeing increasing visitors year on year. We expect numbers to be up once again in 2023, reflecting the quality of both the exhibition – which will include some of the biggest names in the industry - and the conference.

“The conference will cover all the big issues facing the UK public safety communications technology sector, from the evolution and continued exploitation of current solutions to the potential role of ‘future technology’ such as AI.

“The annual BAPCO Conference and Exhibition is crucial to the success and development of the sector, driving the conversation from year to year. It enables attendees to network at a very high level, while also witnessing cutting-edge technology first-hand. The BAPCO board can’t wait to see everyone in Coventry.”

Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “This is a major national event and takes full advantage of the flexible space we have at Coventry Building Society Arena, with a major conference programme running alongside a full-scale exhibition.

“The technology and discussions had at this event will play a key role in keeping people across the country safe. Being at the heart of the UK, we are perfectly positioned to bring delegates from across the country together and we are proud to host the BAPCO Annual Event.”
