Last chance for summer evening dining in spectacular city centre location
A summer of evening fine-dining in the historic undercroft of a 14th Century building in Coventry is coming to an end for the season.
No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM), which manages Tales of Tea in St Mary’s Guildhall, launched a new evening menu at the venue in May to run throughout the summer.
For the remaining Saturdays in August only, visitors will be able to enjoy high-end à la carte dining offering twists on classic British cuisine using quality ingredients.
The three-course evening menu offers guests a relaxed dining experience in the atmospheric space, choose from a three-course menu including twice-baked applewood cheese soufflé, roasted Norwegian cod with a curried coconut broth, and a forced rhubarb and apple crumble tart.
Other options include spring chicken two-ways with butter braised potato and madeira, morel & baby leek fricassee, a selection of regional British cheeses, and classic sticky toffee pudding.
Tales of Tea at St Mary’s Guildhall will continue to offer its acclaimed daytime afternoon tea as well as its popular brunch and lunch menus. Plus look out for new food and drink experiences coming soon. Tales of Tea is also available to hire for private parties and dining events.
Abi Moore, venue manager at St Mary’s Guildhall, said: “For those who want to come and try this wonderful fine dining experience, time is running out.
“We’ve been running it every Saturday since the middle of May and the feedback has been fantastic and now there are just a few Saturdays left to come along and enjoy exquisite evening dining in the most amazing surroundings.”
The Undercroft, which houses the Tales of Tea restaurant, would have historically been used to store a range of items over the centuries from food, to building materials and even barrels of gunpowder during the English Civil War.
