Local people asked to help with forthcoming election

Warwick District Council is appealing to residents to help support next year’s County Council election in May 2025.

The Council is advertising six paid roles to support the forthcoming election, from supervising polling stations on voting day to assisting with the count. Allocation of staff to locations commences in December of this year.

The roles, which include Presiding Officers, Poll Clerks and Count Clerks, are available to anyone over 18 years, subject to proof of ID. Those applying to work at a Polling Station will need to be available from 6.30am to 10.30pm on polling day.

The count venue is to be confirmed, with the date and timings to be also confirmed nearer the election.

Chris Elliott, Returning Officer for Warwick District, said:

“Running an election is a massive undertaking, with hundreds of people needed to run the polling stations and count the votes. By providing your support, you will not only play a vital role in the smooth running of our polling stations and at the count but also ensure that the democratic process for our area is carried out quickly and efficiently.”

Full paid online training will be available for those applying for Presiding Officers and Poll Clerk roles.
