Milestone for multi-million-pound refurbishment at Coventry Building Society Arena's on-site Doubletree hotel
A multi-million-pound refurbishment of a Coventry four-star hotel has hit a major milestone with new rooms set to enhance the hotel’s experience for guests.
The project to overhaul the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at Coventry Building Society Arena is gathering pace and is expected to be completed by Summer 2025.
The first 20 rooms are the first stage of a significant investment which will see all 121 bedrooms renovated, a new-look lobby, restaurant and the introduction of new technology.
It sees the introduction of new room types across the hotel, expanding its current offer from seven to 13 room categories, including pitch view rooms, family rooms and more suites – with premium rooms including a in-room fitness suite for guests to keep active.
The refurbishment has been taking place in stages, with the schedule of work designed to ensure minimal disruption for guests.
The bedrooms include 65” LED TV screens in large rooms and suites, and 55” LED TV screens in the other rooms, with guests able to watch live sports from the comfort of their room.
Each room features new beds, furniture, lighting, curtains and flooring, with design features and artwork showcasing Coventry and the heritage of Coventry Building Society Arena as a leading venue for sport, business events and live entertainment.
To enhance sustainability, energy-efficient LED lighting has been installed throughout the hotel, and new air and heating systems have been installed in rooms too, with the system centrally controlled by the room key.
The first phase also sees corridors and public areas transformed around the hotel, including the carpets with a nod to sky blue to reflect the football club that calls the stadium home.
The second phase of the refurbishment will see public spaces refreshed around the venue and will begin when all rooms have been completed.
Guests will be greeted by a new hotel lobby with an extended lounge, comfortable seating, new lighting and the latest Doubletree signage.
Corridors will be re-painted, new signage for guests erected and a new lounge for guests to relax will be created, overlooking the main atrium of Coventry Building Society Arena.
Faradays, the hotel’s restaurant, will also be enhanced– with investment in new furniture to improve the experience for diners in the restaurant and people visiting the bar.
The investment in the hotel is part of an ongoing project to enhance, improve and future-proof spaces at Coventry Building Society Arena.
Raj Balsaraf, General Manager at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “This is a key milestone in our refurbishment project which is modernising the hotel, adding value for guests and bringing substantial improvements to the experiences.
“By investing, enhancing the facilities and uplifting the product we can now not only maintain that level but also provide even more memorable experiences for our guests.
“This investment strengthens our relationship with Hilton which has thrived over the last decade.
“With the introduction of new lounges, family rooms and suits, this investment signals a real step up in our guest experience.
“We’ll be completing the remainder of the rooms over the coming months, before turning our attention to the lobby, which we are very excited to share our plans for soon.”
