Warwick district to pause for applause this weekend
Local people are being encouraged to ‘pause for applause’ this weekend to reflect, remember and say thank you to all those in our district who have been affected by or have played a role during the coronavirus pandemic.
Warwick District Council is hoping that the community will join the newly founded /Together coalition in a national ‘coming together’ to mark the 72nd anniversary of the NHS on 5 July and pay tribute not only to NHS staff, but all key workers and good neighbours who have helped during this difficult period.
As well as taking part in the national applause at 5pm on Sunday 5 July, the Council’s Chairman, Councillor Martyn Ashford is inviting people to share their thankyou photos and messages via social media and to put a light in their windows on Saturday evening in remembrance of those we have lost.
Councillor Ashford commented;
“We would very much like everybody, in whatever way they can to pause, reflect and join with others to say thank you, to everyone in our district who been on the frontline, a key worker, has volunteered or helped to keep our services and community networks going during these challenging times.”
