Warwickshire based charity celebrates move into new head office 56 years after founding
A charity has celebrated another milestone in its 56-year history with a successful move to a new head office.
Warwickshire-based charity Way Ahead Support Services, which was founded as a playgroup for disabled children in 1966, supports 80 disabled adults across the region through their supported living accommodation, daytime activity service and home outreach programme.
The not for profit charity, which is affiliated to national charity Mencap, was looking for a centralised base of operations in Warwickshire to strengthen their existing social care provision across the region.
Following a visit to Athena Court in Tachbrook Park, which is owned and managed by AC Lloyd Commercial, the team was impressed by the range of office units to lease.
With support from the AC Lloyd team, the charity found the 904 sq ft unit was a great fit for promoting the professional image of the Health and Social Care sector.
The charity’s Office Personnel Manager Michelle Turner, who has been with the organisation for 13 years, explained: “We were looking for a new head office base near both Leamington and Warwick, which would give us the space to continue building on our established reputation in the social care sectors of both communities.
“We found Athena Court in Tachbrook Park and thought the premises would be a great fit for our needs and a visit to the park highlighted its easy transport links to both Leamington and Warwick which gives us a great location to continue our work across the region
“On top of this, the team at AC Lloyd has been so supportive, really listening to us, understanding the charity’s needs and guiding us through the process to find and lease our perfect unit.
“The transition into our new premises has been super smooth and our neighbours have been really welcoming and helpful, and we are looking forward to continuing our person-centred work in the local community.”
Tony Hargreave, Property Asset Manager at AC Lloyd Commercial, said it was great to welcome Way Ahead Support Services.
He said: “We are happy to be home for a diverse number of business and organisations and it is great to add Way Ahead Support Services to the Athena Court community.
“The flexibility of unit sizing across the site allows us to tailor premises to the needs of each tenant and it is brilliant that the Way Ahead team has found the perfect unit for their work.
“We have let the offices out to Way Ahead for three year and I look forward to hearing about the charity’s invaluable work in the community.”
Coventry and Warwickshire based commercial property agency Bromwich Hardy was the letting agent involved in the deal.
