Start-up Business Get Top tips on How to Succeed at a New Workshop Format for Entrepreneurs
Start-up business leaders from across Coventry and Warwickshire were given a chance to get top tips on how to succeed at a new workshop format for new entrepreneurs.
Organised by Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub, the event was held at Oakridge Golf Club in Nuneaton. It brought together a host of start up owners and staff with an aim to boost relationships amongst the burgeoning business community from across the region.
The friendly, relaxed atmosphere allowed the networking side of the event to flourish, while a range of informative talks ensured that vital lessons could be learnt by 70 plus businesses represented.
Talks across the morning covered topics such as social media tips, finance and business support, guidance on bookkeeping and more. The event was part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the Business Support Programme.
Gavin Barnett, Business Navigator at the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub, said: “We thought that creating a relaxed atmosphere but ensuring top quality speakers discussing a range of topics was the perfect recipe for success with this event.
“To ensure everybody got something out of the event we had speakers on a huge range of topics, from social media specialists to accountancy experts.
We know that for start-ups today there are so many options to take in order to build yourself up, so we got along Kickstarter experts and representatives from Enterprise Nation too.
For some, these talks would have flicked a switch in their mind that will open up new doors for them but for others I am sure the chance to meet new contacts and network was the real winning factor for the day.
We had a great turn out and certainly achieved our goal for the day, which was to bring the business community closer together and offer practical advice they can take away and put to good use.”
The Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) Growth Hub was established in 2014 and is designed to help businesses with ambitions to grow whatever their sector by offering a one-stop shop of advice and guidance.
In its latest figures for 2018/19, the CWLEP Growth Hub has now engaged with, and is continuing to support, over 5,000 businesses.
