Two of Coventry's most historic venues set for jam-packed festive season
Two of Coventry’s most historic venues are gearing up for a festive season to remember as businesses prepare for the Christmas party season.
Coombe Abbey Hotel and St Mary’s Guildhall have unveiled their Christmas packages for businesses and parties of all sizes this winter, with operators No Ordinary Hospitality set for another jam-packed December after bookings returned to pre-Covid levels last year.
Coombe Abbey Hotel is offering packages for groups of up to 500 including its extravagant party nights and private room hire options, with the Luminate light trail and Go Ape! activities sure to create an unforgettable festive get-together.
The venue’s Christmas party nights with Free Radio’s JD will treat guests to a three-course meal capped with a silent disco while its Gatsby Ball on December 1 and 14 channels the roaring ‘20s and includes a four-course meal with live entertainment and casino tables.
The historic setting is also hosting its popular festive murder mysteries on December 7, 15 and 30, with a three-course meal and afterparty as guests attempt to solve a mystery set in Christmas 1946.
Sister venue St Mary’s Guildhall is providing a classic Christmas experience new for this year in the heart of the city centre, with the Great Hall decorated with Victorian-inspired furnishings and 18ft Christmas trees to provide a postcard-worthy backdrop for visitors enjoy, complete with traditional greenery and lights.
The Guildhall is also home to the acclaimed Tales of Tea restaurant, which is offering private dining for groups looking for evenings filled with music and food.
The dining experience is available to book for groups from 80 to 110 and features a chef’s choice of two canapes, a three-course meal and mince pies to enjoy, with lunchtime options also available.
Champagne can also be added for a sparkling celebration, while the venue also offers a bowl food option for more informal gatherings.
Kathy Nakra, Director of Sales at No Ordinary Hospitality, said: “We are delighted to showcase our festive programme to help a wide variety of groups and businesses make this Christmas one to remember.
“Christmas is always an extremely busy time at our venues and wide range of options this year are designed to help all guests to celebrate in style from high-quality sit-down meals to fun-filled parties.
“We are already seeing strong demand for bookings so would urge those tasked with organising the work Christmas do to get in touch as soon as possible to avoid missing out.”
