Christmas on the menu as hospitality firm takes ice cream van on tour of business parks
Staff at a Coventry and Warwickshire hospitality firm have served up an early Christmas treat at business parks across the city after hopping on board an ice cream van to show they’ve got the festive season licked.
Christmas-jumper-clad event and sales staff at No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM) have taken a tour of Coventry’s industrial estates to hand out soft-serve ice creams and ice lollies – with special rates for corporate bookings, conferences and celebrations also on the menu.
NOHM which manages event bookings at four of the region’s most celebrated venues including St Mary’s Guildhall, IXL Events Centre and Stoneleigh Abbey, has also enjoyed a 200 per cent increase in Christmas bookings at Coombe Abbey Hotel compared to July 2023.
Ron Terry, group operations director at NOHM, said making more people aware of the range of events that can be held across the four venues was a priority for the business.
The company, based at Binley Innovation Centre in Coventry, recently renewed its agreement with IXL Events Centre, set in the grounds of Dallas Burston Polo Club, and Stoneleigh Abbey, which dates back to 1154, to continue supporting their corporate bookings.
He said: “We have four of the most unique venues in Coventry & Warwickshire in our portfolio, capable of holding special occasions and corporate events for two people or 1,000.
“We often see a spike in interest for Christmas bookings at this time of year as companies start to think about parties or all-staff meetings, so we thought taking an ice cream van straight to businesses would be a great way to stand out in an extremely competitive market.
“Even though it wasn’t too hot, the team certainly got a sweat on in their Christmas jumpers – but it was well worth it!”
Ansty Park, Binley Business Park and Middlemarch Business Park were all on the itinerary for the No Ordinary Hospitality team.
“The reaction we have seen has been absolutely brilliant,” Ron said.
“We are always extremely busy over the festive season, but expanding our corporate network and making sure people know about the sheer variety of events we can host is one of our top priorities.”
