Contechs Listed in The Sunday Times International Track 200 for Second Year Running
Engineering, design and recruitment firm Contechs has been named one of Britain’s fastest growing firms for the second year running.
The award-winning business has once again secured a top spot in the Sunday Times league table – clinching 82nd place, following another year of investment and expansion.
The annual Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 ranks the country’s mid-market businesses with the fastest growing international sales.
It is compiled by Fast Track and announced each June in the business section of the publication.
Contechs, which has its headquarters in Basildon, entered the table for the first time last year as the 30th fastest growing business in Britain.
And Peter Jarvis, Managing Director of Contechs which was also listed earlier this month in the London Stock Exchange’s top 1000 companies to inspire Britain, believes this second appearance in the table is a testament to the continued success of the business.
“We are thrilled to be in the Sunday Times league table for a second year running,” he added. “To feature again is a real achievement and we are incredibly proud.
“Contechs has enjoyed three years of phenomenal growth. Over the past 12 months we have invested substantially in further growing the business as well recruiting more staff to keep up with high demand and maintain our market-leading position within the industry.”
Over the last year, Contechs has made major investments in the business which has seen it not only trebled the size of its dedicated trimming facility but also invest over £3 million in state-of-the-art equipment and automated processes.
The firm, which also operates at sites in Warwick in the UK, Munich and Cologne in Germany, as well as Slovakia and India, has also recently announced its third recruitment drive which has seen the firm doubling its workforce in just 18 months.
The latest round of investment comes as Contechs prepares for major growth in business over the next two years. By 2020, Contechs will have the capacity to undertake around £40 million worth of business within the trimming arm of the firm. The company is also on target to achieve a £110 million turnover within the next two years.
Contechs' list of clients features some of Europe's largest and most prestigious vehicle manufacturers, encompassing high volume carmakers, performance specialists and first tier suppliers. Established in 1997, Contechs specialises in design and engineering, trim-manufacture, materials handling and specialist recruitment.
Mr Jarvis added: ““Our continued investment shows our ongoing commitment and determination to respond to the increased demand in the marketplace. We have enjoyed an incredible few years which has led us to expand our operations in the UK and overseas.
“To be recognised in the Sunday Times league table for a second year, is a rewarding experience and we hope to continue our investment and hopefully achieve a hat-trick by appearing in next year’s table.”
