Food trucks serve up morale boost for hospitality staff
A leading Midlands hospitality firm has teamed up with local food truck vendors to serve up a morale-boosting benefit for staff.
No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM), which operates Coombe Abbey Hotel, has introduced free street food lunch events to bring employees together at least once a quarter.
The initiative has been launched as NOHM expands its local supplier network, with multiple independent businesses based in Coventry and Warwickshire now supplying baked goods and snacks to its restaurants and cafes.
Vendors who have catered the lunches, which take place outside Coombe Abbey Hotel, have included Gyro Guys, KK Catering, The English Indian and Pietanic.
Sophie Allan, HR Administrator at NOHM, said: “We trialled this initiative for the first time last year and we’ve had such a positive response that we felt it was important to keep it going in 2024.
“It’s also a brilliant opportunity to continue to build our connections with our fantastic suppliers in Coventry and Warwickshire and support independent businesses in the region.
“We have been able to bring members of staff together for a chat and a spot of lunch, and we think it’s been really beneficial to the overall morale of the team.
“It’s a chance to catch up with colleagues from different areas of the business and adds a bit of variety to what can be a very demanding job in hospitality.”
NOHM also operates St Mary’s Guildhall and The Park Bistro in Coventry, and provides conference and corporate event marketing support to Stoneleigh Abbey and IXL Events Centre at Dallas Burston Polo Club.
