Who it is for:

This is available to existing employees who have either previously completed an apprenticeship at level 3 or are qualified to A-Level or an equivalent qualification. It is intended for manufacturing businesses of all sizes and sectors who want to develop and upskill their employees. The collaboration between work and study shapes your employee to add value to your business and provide a demonstrable return on investment.

A company focussed engineering degree apprenticeship that adds value to your business. The engineering apprenticeship can be adapted for a wide range of manufacturing businesses. Through work-based learning, each module enhances the apprentices and the employer’s capabilities. They will gain a strong, well rounded view of engineering functions and specialise in areas most important to your business. Successful applicants will achieve a Degree Apprenticeship in Product Design and Development that incorporates a BEng Honours Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, which prepares them for Incorporated Engineer status.

Assessment:

  • Apprentices are assessed throughout the apprenticeship via exams, coursework, work based projects and case studies. The apprenticeship also includes an end point assessment, which consists of a review of their apprenticeship.

Duration:

  • The duration of the apprenticeship is five years, or less, depending on the apprentice’s experience and qualification.

Entry Requirements:

  • Level 2 or equivalent in English & Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Completion of Level 3 Apprenticeship, or:
  • 2 A-Levels which will include one from a Maths based subject and one from a Science based subject.
