Success at Friars House underlines need for Grade A office space in Coventry
Investment leads to city centre lettings
A flurry of lettings at a landmark office building in Coventry city centre has underlined the need for more Grade A space in the city.
Rupert Gillitt, director of Holt Commercial, who is one of the joint agents at Friars House where 25,000 sq ft of office space has been let in the past few weeks believes it is a great example of the thirst for quality space in Coventry and Warwickshire.
FI Real Estate Management (FIREM) recently invested £3 million to refurbish the building, which is situated close to Coventry railway station.
That has resulted in lettings to Reall, We Are Digital and Kagool as well as an expansion by Fig Offices within the building, meaning that just 13,500 sq ft of space remains at Friars House across two floors.
Rupert said the success of the 11-storey building on the back of the investment showed that there is an appetite for high-quality, city centre space.
He said: “Friars House is among the highest specification office space currently available in Coventry city centre and that is reflected in this string of new lettings.
“It highlights just how investing in a property to upgrade the specification results in attracting strong business tenants to the building.
“The location – at the heart of Coventry’s city centre regeneration – and the quality of space is almost unrivalled and we are delighted that these new lettings have been achieved and are confident that there are more to come in the near future.
“It is further evidence, if it were needed, that there is a demand for Grade A office space in Coventry and there is a need for more premium office accommodation in the city centre.”
